MAN WITH A “NERVE.”
TAKES ROLL OF TWEED FROM SHOP. STRUGGLE WITH THE MANAGER Christchurch, Aug. 9. With a piece of brown paper under his arm, a man walked into the premises of the Cush Tailoring Company, Colombo street, yesterday. Ho took a roll of tweed valued at £l5 from the counter, wrapped it up and walked quietly out of the shop. He was. seen by Mr. E. C. McDonald, the manager of the business, who rushed out of the back door and met the man a$ he hurried down Tuani street with the tweed in a parcel under his arm. A struggle followed, but the man got away.
