CANADIAN TOURISTS.

ARRIVAL THIS EVENING. The sensation-making Canadian Soccer team arrives at Hastings by mail-train this evening and will be met by the Mayor (Mr G. A. Maddison) and by the local Association officials. Hie visitors will be given a formal reception and as many players and supporters as can he at the station are asked to join in the welcome. To-morrow is the day of the great game, and it begins at Nelson Park, Hastings, at 2-45 p.m. There will lie a curtain raiser between Napier and Hastings schoolboys, so that those who obey the wise injunction to get there early to make sure of a seat will be entertained till the big match begins. The superb play of the Canadians has surprised even those accustomed to the very best Soccer, and there have been thousands of others surprised to find a game they knew so little about so thrilling and consistently exciting. The Hawke’s Bay representatives are in fine fettle, and will make the game as interesting as any sporting event ever seen in this province.
