The board is now more closely in touch with overseas research institutions and hopes for good results from the coming Imperial Agricultural Research Conference..

The Port Inspection Offices at Liverpool and London, in conjunction with the low temperature station at Cambridge, were acquiring knowledge of the causes of the deterioration of fruit cargoes. Similar offices were being established at Manchester and Hull. The South African and Rhodesian Governments approved the scheme for the establishment of a quarantine station in London for exporting pedigree stock and if the other Governments concur similar stations will be provided at Liverpool and Glasgow ■ The Imperial Economic Committee will shortly undertake an investigation into the marketing of tobacco, pig products, wine, sugar and probably timber.—(A. and N.Z.)
