Mr. AV. J. Tindall left Hastings for Christchurch this morning, where his marriage takes place shortly. The Rev .John Ings, of Napier, left this morning on a short visit tu Wellington, The Rev. R. B. Waujh and Mrs. Waugh of Havelock North, are staying at Waimarama for two or three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Martin left Hastings this morning for Out, after spending their Xmas, with Mr. and Mrs. C. Apperley, of Havelock road. Mrs. W. Tricklebank, wife of Detective W. Trickle bank, of Wellington, is on a holiday visit to Hastings and is staying with Mr. and Mrs. J. Sticklaud, Havelock road, Hastings. Miss Eunice Harvcv. who has been on a visit td her parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. Harvey, St. Andrew's road, • Hastings, returned to Wellington yesterday. Captain A. W. Pearse, New Zealand and Australian representative for the Port of London Authority arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Makura, and will spend a month in New Zealand. < The death is announced from New Plymouth of Mrs.Fookes. wife of Dr E. F. Fookes, of that town. The deceased, who was of a bright and lovable disposition, was well known in Taranaki and leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. Mrs. Fookes had many friends in Hawke's Bay. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. B. F. Bollard) left Wellington yesterday for Botorua, where he will preside at the first meeting of the Maori Arts and Crafts Board. The Minister will also confer with the native chiefs regarding the welcome to the Duke and Duchess of York. The marriage takes place at Petone to-morrow of Miss Gladys Edridge, elder daughter of Rev. H. E. Edridge, a former minister of the Hastings Baptist Church, to Mr. W. Teeboon, of Brooklyn, Wellington. The father of the bride will be the officiating minister, and she will be given away by her brother, Mr. B. H. Edridge, of Hastings. Among the guests at the Masonic Hotel, Napier, are: —Miss 0.
