It was dull but line at Trentham this morning, but there was little work of any Kind, and alhough a number oi visiting horses have arrived they wer© not asked for anything strenuous, 'lhe tracks are hard. Modern and Misgovern were given a good working galiop over six furlongs on the tan, the time being 1.19. Nadanno, after beginning very slowly, was given a good threequarter pace gallop over six furlongs. Salamis and Matu were companions in a working gallop over six furlongs. J. Al. Jefferd had his trio. Rapine, Star Stranger and Mimetic, on the course, and they were only trotted and cantered. They will be galloped fast to-morrow. All three look very well. Rapine, in particular, was very anxious to go faster when doing good pace work on the tan.

S. Waddell had Gold Light, Shirley, Father O’Flynn and Rascal on the course. Gold Light looks none the worse for her two races at Riccarton, and the remaining three appear to be in good fettle. Licinius has also arrived at Trentham. Grand Knight was out with the remainder of S. Reid’s team. He seemed just slightly sore when he first went out to trot round the centre, but it soon wore off.
