AUSTRALIAN FLOUR.
LOWERS NEW ZEALAND PRICES. Christchurch, April 10. Largo quantities of Australian flour are being imported into the Dominion at present, with the result that New Zealand millers. are finding that the demand for their flour is much below normal, ft is understood that sales last month were about half what they were in March last year. The position is not getting any better, because there is flour arriving on each boat from Australia. POSITION OF SOUTHERN MILLERS. , Dunedin, April 10. Local flourmillers state that Dunedin mills do not ship largely to the north, but must be affected if Australia holds the northern market. Not much Australian flour comes south, but importations have already reached such proportions in the north that southern milling has been reduced to about half the’ordinary proportion. One miller said that not much cQuld be done except to bring down the price., which meant a loss, since the millers bought wheat at a fixed price. Relief would come quickly if outside tnarkqts centred in London took a firming tendency.
