CLEARING SALE. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr. P. Prices: Shorn m.s. lambs 7/6 to 13/-, 4 and 6-tooth ewes J23/-, 2-tooth ewes 21/6, 4 and 5-year j ewes 12/9, cows and calves £2 6/-, cows (running with bull) £2, cows and : heifers (with bull) £2 2/-, 3-year i steers £1 2/-, steers £3 11/-, J m.s. yearlings £1 11/-. Ltd. have receivel the following cablegram from their London house under date 25th. inst.: — ' The sales closed firmly to-day. As compared with last sale’s closing rates prices are higher about pap to 5 per cent, for greasy Merino inferior, Merino lambs, scoured Merino super and medium ; higher about 5 per cent, for crossbred lambs, greasy Merino super, greasy Merino medium, and fine greasy crossbred; lower about 5 per cent. Tor crossbred slipe; others are unchanged. 1 America is bu>’ing suitable lots of crosspred. Competition for Home trade and the Continent is active. The prices realised for average to super grades of descriptions as below were as follows: —Merino super 2ld to 2GRI, average 18d to 22d; crossbred 56/58’s 19d to 22.‘,d, 50/56’s 17d to 20d, 48/50’s 168 to 18d, 46/48’s 14d to 16d, 44/46’s 13. id to 15d, 40/44’s 13d to 14RI, 33/40’s 13d to 14d.
