TASMANIAN PRODUCERS HIT.
STRIKE CONSEQUENCES. (Received 29, 10.5 a.m.) Hobart, Al arch 29. The crew of the steamer Kanna have been paid off. Th© withdrawal of the steamer from the Sydney-Hobart trade is having a serious effect on the fruitgrowers in the Huon district and timber industry, as the Kanna is the only regular collier taking coal to Hobart. Supplies are running low. Because a vessel was loaded by nonunion labour with zinc which was do* clared “black,” the Hobart branch of the AVatersiders’ Federation refused to work cargo ip the Union Company’s steamer Kanna, which arrived with coal and general cargo from Newcastle and Sydney.
