WAIPUKURAU.
(Own Correspondent). Reginald Dodds Mclntyre, who was brought before the local Magistrate’s Court last week on a serious charge, •amo before Mr. C. Saunders, J.P., in the Waipukurau Court yesterday. Ho was further remanded to appear at Hastings o-n the 31st inst. A Christmas tree ceremony was held mder the auspices of Loyal Tavistock ■)dgo of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity) when a few pleasant hours were spent by the children of members and visiting brethren. Nurse Signall is at present on holilay leave and will visit New Plymouth. \urse Ellis, recently located at Hawera, but formerly of Hastings, and well-known in Waipukurau, is filling iho temporary vacancy. Little Sheila Lee, daughter of Mr. I. K. Lee, engineer to the Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board, has been irought home after a lengthy period of treatment in Wellington for infantile paralysis. Mr. G. S. Draper, audit inspector, jf Napier, left for his home yesterday alter being engaged here for several weeks auditing the accounts of local bodies. His assistant, Mr. W. Searby, 'eaves to-day for Auckland to spend the holidays.
The Waipukurau Dental Clinic is to remain closed until the 19th prox., for the holidays.
