THE PICTURE HOUSES.
MUNICIPAL. Thrills and humour abound in “Hold Your Breath,” screening at the Hastings Municipal Theatre this evening. Dorothy Deyore displays acrobatic powers of the - highest order in her endeavours to keep pace with a monkey which, having stolen a valuable brace•et, seeks to elude capture by climbing ..he side of a many-storied hotel. The vast assembly of people below expect •very inmute to see this daring lady fall to the ground. There arc some idmirable pieces of rich humour, in which Walter Hiers and Tully Marshall and a specially trained monkey ippear. Dorothy Devore slides from lire hoses, swings on window blinds dips from electric signs and flagpoles, t is a picture to eaivjc one literally to hold one’s breath. There is an excellent supporting programme.
Boxing Day Attractions.
Pictures will be shown as usual on Boxing Day (Saturday), and very entertaining programmes have been prepared for the afternoon and evcniljig sessions. The principal attraction will <>e “Locked Doors,” starring Robert Edescn and Betty Compson, with Theodore Roberts and Kathleen Williams in important roles. The serial, a comedy and gazettes will also be shown.
COSY DE LUXE. A woman’s fight for youth and for the love of a young man many years her junior is the basic Theme of “One Way Street.” an emotion-stirring pho- ■ oplay with is now screening at the 1 .'osy Theatre, Hastings. Ben Lyon and Anna Q. Nilsson have the stellar roles with supporting cast including Marjorie Daw, Lumsden Haro, ThomaHolding Dorothy Cumming, Jed Prouty and Mona Kingsley. The climax of the startling story involves the effect f a violent rage on the beautiful woman at the moment she finds her great ambitions, her most, brilliant success, crashing to destruction because of jealousy over a young man. Boxing Day Pictures. There will be no pictures shown to norrow, hut on Boxing Day (Saturday) hero will be the usual screenings in the afternoon and evening. “Dangernis Innocence” is the title of the feature at both sessions. It is a rollick ing story thoroughout, starring Laura La Plante and Eugene O’Brien. Tho supporting films include a Century Comedy and International News.
