FASCISM AND COMMUNIST. LABOUR LEADER’S WARNING. Washington, Dec. 22. Presideant Green, in a letter to 4,000,000 members of the American Federation of Labour, warns them against the menacing influences and pernicious practices of both Soviet Russia and Fascist Italy within the United States, declaring: “Mussolini is not satisfied with the powers of dictator in Italy, where the sword has taken the place of reason, but has extended the tentacles of Fascism to other countries.”
Mr. Green warns Italian members of the federation and Italian residents generally of organisations formed here, which discourage the naturalisation of Italians under threat of persecuting their families in Italy if they disobey. Americans generally are urged to oppose Fascism propaganda as strongly as Communism.—(A. and N.Z.) On the Same Level 12p
