In the New Zealanders 7 holiday match against Ballarat, at Ballarat, th;* visitors batted first and compiled 335 for 6 wickets, of which Lowry mad * 140 and Oliver 104. Each batsmen were in execellent form and played sparkling cricket, giving their local exponents a wonderful exhibition of batting. The Ballarat team was dismissed for 50, th*» visitors’ bowling demoralising them Cunningham secured 6 for 19, and Blunt 3 for 9.
