HOLIDAY RACING. NOTES ON TRACK WORK. ELLERSLIE GALLOPS. Auckland, Dec. 22. The weather was fine for training at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper outside of three trestles was open for fast work, and was in good order. Sir Archie went over a mile, the last seven furlongs taking 1.38 4-5. Star Stranger and Automne galloped a mile, the last seven furlongs taking 1.32 3-5. Queen Arch left four furlongs behind m 52jsecs. Horomea galloped five furlongs from the old post in 1.7 4-5. Thursby, Kawinui, and Frowning Beauty were in that order at the end of a round done in 2.5 3-5. •Centrepiece was not doing his best at the end of seven furlongs run in 1.42. Royal Tea, Ngawati, and Clarus were in that order at the end of five furlongs from the new post, accomplished in 1.5 4-5. Kiosk was in front of Decoy Bird at the end of a similar gallop done in 1.5 2-5. Master Doon and Cawnpore went together over five furlongs from the old post, taking 1.6, Surveyor and Pelham taking 1.6 2-5. Broadwood beat Royal Present over six furlongs run in 1.20. Commendation beat Joy King over a similar distance in 1.21.

Gala Day, Star Ranger, Musketoon, Boomerday. Muraahi, and Polonett, in that order, did a mile and a half in 2.15, the last round taking 2.6 4-5.

Archeeno and Arch Arnie left six furlongs behind in 1.24, and Hayes seven in 1.45 1-5. Nincompoop galloped three furlongs, taking 41 2-5 secs. Attractive and Mount Marta went over six furlongs, taking 1.20. Rapine in strong work, did the last six furlongs in 1.20 1-5. Royal Form and Uralla covered a like distance in I. and Prince Abbey and Ballymoy 11. the same in 1.19.

Gold Fern and Merry Damon galloped six furlongs, taking 1.20. Mimetic, who was joined by My Hobby at the five-furlong post, ran six furlongs in 1.18 4-5, the last five taking 1.6. Mosaic finished in front- of Barometer. Kamehameha, Quincoma, and Passionate at the end of seven furlongs covered in 1.3.3 3-5. Lysanaer 'left six furlongs behind in 1.19. ManDanae and Penman galloped six furlongs in 1.19. Reremoana and Tukia. galloped four furlongs in 5] 3-ssecs., Civility and Siaosi taking 50 2-ssecs, and Glentruin 49 4-ssecs, the best gallop of the morning for the distance. Beacon Light went over seven furlongs in 1.38. Loyal Irish and Exactly left siv furlongs behind in 1.19. Mundane and The Lamb covered seven furlongs in 1.33 2-5. S

Fool’s Paradise and Black Cat left our furlongs behind in 50 4-ssecs. count Cavour was slightly ahead of .he Banker over a round done in 2.5. Limited easily beat Saucy Lass and Romney over five furlongs from the new post in 1.4 4-5. Eden Hall beat Star Area over four furlongs in 50 3-ssec.

Desert Glow, alone, ran a mile and a quarter in 2.14, the last round taking 2.1 3-5, the best round done at • - lerslie for a long while. Finelli, from a standing start, ran seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5. Black Cruiser was in front of Peter Amans and Sea Comet over six hurdles, ut Peter Amans could have improved on his showing. The track work at Awapuni this morning was restricted in the main part to local trainers, the major portion of the work being done on inc plough. Sanctuary beat Capitulation over furlongs run in 1.35. Lin Arlington •eft five furlongs behind in 1.5. Cat Call beat Benmure over a mile in 1.48. .Many Colours ran over seven furlongs in 1:37. Novar beat Martinnette at the end of seven furlongs accomplished in 1.34 A-. Megalo pulling strong, galloped five furlongs in 1.6. Birthmark (Mackie), The Emperor (Caddy), and Comedy Prince (Towers) were associated in a gallop over a mile. Birthmark had the inside running and was the first to hit the front. Going along the back the trio were in line, remedy Prince worked to the front, out could not keep his position. In die run down the straight Birthmark came away and won by two lengths from The Emperor, the same distance between The Emperor and Comedy Prince.
