Victoria’s Big Score HENDRY 325, NOT OUT. NEW ZEALANDERS PLAY FOR A DRAW. (By Cable-PreHP Association—Copyright.) Melbourne, Dec. 21. The weather was hot and there was a strong wind for the continuation of the match Victoria v. New Zealand. The wicket was good. Patrick was unable to field owing to a split finger. Hendry continued stylishly. Lansdowne was neat but slow. "He was smartly caught behind the wicket aftei 118 minutes, having scored no boundaries. The partnership yielded 204 runs, of which Hendry made 153. Liddicutt gave a very bright display. He hit hard and 90 runs were added in an hour. Five hundred came up in 375 minutes. When 275 Hendrv survived a unanimous appeal for a catch behind the wicket. It appeared to be a bad decision. Both batsmen obtained many runs owing to faulty placing of the field. When 295 Hendry gave a difficult chance to Blunt in the slips off Cunningham. Liddicutt was caught at cover, a nice catch. In his 63 minutes at the crease he hit six fours. Alcott went in the first over after tea to a nice catch in the outfield after having batted 51 minutes. The batsmen appeared too eager to hit the slow bowler Lansdown, who at one stage had four for 36. More than one batsman committed suicide. Oliver, how. ever, scored four boundaries in one over off Lansdown. putting on 26 in 16 minutes by good driving.
