A SCHOOL OF FASHION.
ADORNMENT OF BRITISH BEAUTY. London, Dec. 20. The British model house, for which Yorkshire, Nottingham and Norfolk manufacturers provided the capital, will inaugurate in the New Year an attempt to establish a new school of fashion, ft aims at making London the Empire’s fashion centre. Mr. Raymond, managing director, says the" chief purpose is to design fashions suitable to British beauty. At present a British woman wanting to look smart tries to look French and fails, because she hides her distinctive characteristics, which are spiritual rather than plyrsical. The British are quite as attractive as Parisiennes but of a different type. The model house has secured premises in Regent street and is opening the only stock room in the world containing all British goods.—(Sydney “Sun’’ cable.)
