Wool

The Wanganui Sales CONTINENTALS OPERATING. PREVIOL'S PRICES MAINTAINED. (Per Press Association). Wanganui, Nov. 24. The first of the local wool sales was held to-day, when 11,000 bales were offered. The selection of wool was only an average one and included a fair proportion of wool held over from the •,'ievious season. Owing to the weather this season’s clip is not nearly so well grown. It is difficult to compare prices with recent sales, as the wools offered are of a distinctly different type, but it seems thta the market is firm at the level of values es tablishcd. All well-grown wools were in good demand and met with keen competition. The bulk of the offering was disposed of to Continental houses, with good support from Bradford operators. America purchased very little, as the offering was hardly suitable to her requirements. Range of prices:— d to d.
