RYELAND SHEEP BREEDERS.
SOCIETY FORMED. Palmerston N„ Nov. .6. Preliminary steps in the formation of a New Zealand Society of Ryeland Sheep Breeders were taken at a meeting to-day, when Mr E. Averill (Hasiigs) presided over a representative attendance. Mr T. A. Stephens, in moving the formation of the society, expressed the conviction that the Ryeland was the coming sheep, and considered the establishment of a society essential iir order uiiat the breed be given the consideration deserved. It was decided that new members whose flocks are not registered in the New Zealand Sheepbreeders’ Association be charged an entrance fee of two guineas, those joining after December, 1925 to be charged in addition a £5 registration fee. The following officers were elected: President, Mr T. A. Stephens (Ifwell); vice-president. Mr E. Averill; council, Messrs J. W. Deam (Waverley), T. J. Ellis (Bulls), M. S. Chambers (Havelock North), T. W. Lonsdale (Marohimo), Bayly Withell (Ealing), Brooks (Irwell), W. O. Rennie (Dayleston), and J. W. Hall (Hororata); executive, president, vice-presi-dent and Messrs Brooks. Rennie, and Hall; secretary, Mr M. Banks (Christchurch).
