Milne’s orchard, Havelock North, on Saturday, Nov. 15th, commencing rit 2.30 p.m. All fruit-growers will bo welcome. On Saturday next the ladies of Whakatu are holding a stall on the vacant section in Russell street in order to raise funds for a bazaar to be held in aid of tho Mangateretere Public Hall- A large and varied assortment of cakes, produce, etc., will be available. Confronted by innumerable problems in regard to internal departmental arrangements, by reason of their extensive building alterations. Messrs Westerman and Co., drapers, have been compelled to hold a big compulsory building sale. This will open tomorrow (Friday) at 9 a.m. sharp, and tremendous inroads will bo made, particularly into their present stocks of men’s and boy’s clothing and mercery, also the soft furnishings. These departments must be removed, and in order to do it, their stocks must be reduced by half. Never before have such reductions of price been made, for Messrs Westerman and Co. are determined to clean their stocks right up if possible. This sale offers remarkable opportunities to save money, and Messrs Westerman and Co.’s marvellous stocks marked down with compulsory sale prices easily eclipse all competition- Sale begins to-morrow at 9 a.m.
