Not Socialism
DOLES-STRIKES-GO-SLOW. LEAD TO DISASTER. Received 11 1.55 p.m.) London, Sept. 10. In the introduction of a book on Socialism, Mr Ramsay MacDonald writes. ‘• It is good that workmen should not tolerate unjust industrial conditions, but in struggling to obtain their end they should not forget that they arc interdependent members of society and by injuring society they arc injuring themselves. Doles, poplarisin, strikes, and limitation of output are not socialism. Socialists look with misgiving upon recent developments in industrial conflicts, which arc contrary to the spirit of socialism, immoral and uneconomic, and will lead to disaster.” —(A. and N.Z.)
