At the end of next month there will be held in Hastings a conference of delegates to the annual meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union. There will bo a considerable number of visitors from all over New Zealand, and it is inlondded to give them a thorough good idea of Hawke’s Bay at its best, which it should bo at this time of year. Hig Worship the Mayor, who is also chairman of the local Sports Club, is calling a meeting for Friday night to arrange preliminaries and set out a programme for the visit. All interested in the success of sport in Hawke’s Bay are requested to be present at the Chamber of Commerce rooms, Queen street, at 8 p.m. on Friday, 12th inst.
