Hie I'lench newspaper “L’Auto” intends to settle the controversy, says the correspondent of the “Daily Mau” at Paris, and is arranging for detractive tests with daring drivers, forcing cairs equipped with old tyres at’ full speed over a road strewn with broken bottles, ensuring the irregular bursting of the tyres. “L’Aulo” maintains that a burst tyre only causes a car to slow (townand asserts that the frequent Yatal oveirturnings attributed to that cause are actually the result of the driver becoming alarmed at the noise of the explosion, and steering badly.
