The salving of the Bardic, stranded at the Lizard, continues to be interrupted by heavy weather, necessitating the landing of the stevedores. The shin is reported to be firmly on the rocks and flooded. Large quantifies of wool and frozen meat have been taken to Falmouth. At the coroner’s inquest in Sydney on the victims of the steamer Kareela accident, a verdict of accidental death merely was recorded in view of the fact that a Marine Court inquiry is pending. According to the captain, when he found the steering gear was jammed, he gave the order for full speed astern The engineer gave evidence that the order was immediately acted on, but that it came too late, and the crash occvred three seconds later. The United States world flyers have arrived at Washington from New York.
