PALERMO CATHEDRAL.
COLLAPSE OF DOME. Rome, Sept. 10. The dome of the Cathedral San Domenico, Palermo, collapsed. No one was injured. The Cathedral was deserted, though on the present day it was crowded on the occasion of a eucharistic congress.—(A. and N.Z.) Palermo is the capital of Sicily and has a population of ‘346,000. The Cathedral of the Assumption was built in the 12th century by. Archbishop Walter. It contains imperial and other monuments. Reference books make no mention of the Cathedral San Domenico, mentioned in the cable.
