P. AND T. SERVICE.

PROTEST AGAINST “CUT.” (Per Press Association). Wanganui, Sept. 11. The following resolution was carried last night by ine Wanganui section of the P. and T. Officers’ Association:— “That this section considers that the wage cuts constituted a special tax, which was not imposed on any otfier section on the community, and therefore emphatically protests against the proposal to in any way reduce taxes payable by wealthy members of the community until such time as the wage cuts imposed on civil servants have been restored.” TERAI “DISLOYALISTS.” Masterton, Sept. 11. At a well attended meeting of the AVairarapa section of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association held last evening, the following resolution was unanimously carried:—“That this section of the association strongly re_ sents and protests against the expression ‘disloyalists’ as recently used by the Postmaster-General in the House of Representatives when referring to the service. AVc emphatically declare that this imputation is an injustice in that it stigmatises a section of the community which is rendering con scientious and efficient service to the country; also, that this section has every confidence in the executive and wholeheartedly approves and endorses the policy adopted by the executive to obtain a just and reasonable reclassification as would permit of a decent standard of living.”
