MOUNT EVEREST.
THE EXPEDITION HOPES. LEADER CONFIDENT OF SUCCESS. Dbhffon, Jan. 31. Brigadier-General -Bruce, leaders of the Mount Everest expedition, states that it is intended to make every effort to explore the unknown valleys westward of the mountain, ile is confident tbta with 7 ordinary luck the summit will be reached this time in view of the experience gained by the earlier expeditions and the friendly relations established with the Tibetan Government, whereby he is able to command the ser vices of natives, who in the last expedition proved themselves virtually impervious to cold, hardships, anil fatigue. The expedition, with the Knowledge previously gained, will be able to move much more rapidly ca this occasion.— (“Times.”)
