DOES HASTINGS WANT A BAND?

Sir,—“lnterested Citizen’s’’ letter appearing in your Monday’s issue, isks a question which is occupying the minds of all who are in any wav connected with the Band, and it is one that will have to be definitely answered one way or another, and that very shortly. There is now a movement on foot to invite (at an early date) the members of the Band to a social evening as guests of the Citizens’ Committee, when the present situation will lie fully discussed. Therefore comments of my own touching the question will be reserved occasion. —I am, etc., R. W. JONES, Chairman Citizens’ Committee.
