Monsignor Luzio, regent of the apostolic delegate, is going to Dubin to inquire into the relations between the Church and the people of the Free State. The Republicans are delighted and regard the Vatican’s action as a response to their complaint to the Vatican that the Bishops intruded into politics when they excommunicated Republicans. , Some Dublin papers describe Monsignor Luzio’s visit as a peace mission. For the first time th© power given under the Lister Constitution for Ministers to address either House was used by Lord Londonderry, who is leader of the Senate. He introduced the new Education Bill in the House oi Commons.—(A. and N.Z.) MOURNING FOR EXECUTIONS. REBEL PROCLAMATION. London, March 15. The rebels have issued a proclamation that in view of the murders of prisoners of war and executions the present will be observed as a time of' mourning. All sorts of amusements will be suspended. Places of amusement and resorts will be closed. If the rebels are able to enforce this the aicl'igue-Siki fight will be affected. Mr. W. C, Bridgeman, Secretary of State for Home Affairs, replying to a question in the House of Commons., said nothing more than internment was proposed at present in connection with se arrested in the Irish round-up in England, An advisory committee would be constituted at an early date. —(A. and N.Z.)
