WOOL AND MEAT.
EXPORTS FROM HAWKE’S BAY. The amount of wool shipped from Napier last year was double the amount exported in 1921, but there was a slight decrease in the frozen meat exported. Several thousand bflles of Imperial Government wool which had been lying in store for some time, was shipped Home last year, and this may account for a big proportion of the increased export last year. Fifty-four Home liners called at the port during the year, and their total cargoes were 979,718 carcases of frozen meat, 148,636 bales of wool, 12,261 casks of tallow and pelts, 1726 bales of hemp, and 6469 packages of frozen sundries.
