PERMITS AND REGISTRATIONS. ACTIVITY IN BUILDING. Building operations in Hastings are brisk according to the returns supplied by Mr A.. C. Fawcett, the Borough Building Surveyor, wjio supplies the following figures for the month of Decern,ber, show ing the number and value of the permits issued by him: — Permits Value .New dwellings 7 4340 Addition to dwelling .... 1 25 Motor shed 2 50 Offices 1 1900 iSbop, offices (Newgibin’«) *1 8000 Total 12 14,315 During the corresponding month last your 16 permits were issued, representing a value of £7825. For the current financial year (April to December 31) Jl4 permits were issued representing buildings to the value of ,£06,230 and, for the corresponding period, last year, J3l permits were granted, value £63,556. HEALTH. The Hastings Borough Health Inspector reports 8 cases of infectious diseases I‘dr December. Two of these were of a serious nature. Influenza in a mild form is prevalent. MOTOR REGISTRATION. Following are the motor registrations for December the figures for lust year being shown in parenthesis:—Cars 16 (11), cycles 7 (9), lorries 1 (1).
