HUGHES AND THE COUNTRY PARTY. (Received 27, 11.25 a.m.) Sydney, Sept. 27. Mr. Hughes, addressing delegates to the annual conference of the National Assn., said: “I am not out to destroy the Country Party. If Mr. Earl Page and his followers wish to work with us all they need to do is to say so. I will do all I can to effect cooperation and arrive at a modus Vivendi.” —(A. and N.Z.)
