MISCELLANEOUS CABLES.
A charabanc filled with holidaymakers was crossing a bridge at Belluno, Italy, when it overturned and eight persons were drowned and twenty-four injured. The French Government has arranged with the P. and O. Company to carry mails to India, Australia, and tiie East during the seamen’s strike. General rains in the agricultural areas of South Australia have assured a good harvest. At the annual conference of the NewSouth Wales National Association, Sir G. W. Fuller, in his presidential address, outlined the Government’s land policy. He said private estates would lie acquired by fair and reasonable treaty, with the owners. He believed that after the discussions the Government had already had with land owners the proposals in this direction would be fairly and patriotically met. An international police force is being formed at Paris at the instigation of the British Government to prevent international falsification of gold currency banknotes and smuggling money to eastern countries.
