WELLINGTON CITY MANAGER.
POSITION OF MR. W. H. MORTON. Tn committee on Monday night the Wellington City Council came to a decision respecting the reorganisaaon of the city engineer s start with a view to strengthening the department. I was decided to advertise for applicants for the position of outdoor superintendent of works at a salary of £450 per annum and overseer engineer and chiei draughtsman at a salary of £4oo. Mr. Patterson will be assistant engineer indoors, relieving Mr. W. H. Morton (citv engineer), and districts will be allocated to Messrs. Brigham and Fox, engineer. This arrangement will place Mr. Morton practically in the position of manager of the city’s operations genera 1 ly.
