Whether you are a rat e-goer or not you must see the special display of new race models now on view at Baird’s, leading drapers and mercers. Many new features in stydes may be noted, while the colourings are smarter than ever. A new costume or frock is now within the means of all now that prices are so much lower. Messrs. Sutherland and Mitchell’s showroom and window display of new season’s millinery is attracting a great deal of interest. The selection now displayed is the largest and most varied that this firm has submitted for some years. The prices to-day are indeed moderate. Many of these hats were bought as an exceptional job in London. It’s a display worth incpecting. An enormous number of prime fat table fowls and turkey goblers, and hens, ducks, and laying poultry will be sold at Beard, Bullen and Co.’s market sale to-morrow. Full pens of pigs and large yarding of dairy stock will be sold, besides all classes of farm and garden resquisites, corrugated iron, fruit and produce will also be sold. See advt. on page 8 of this issue. Gill Bros, remind readers of their beef and pork sale for 10 a.in. to-mor-row; also full pens of poultry, pigs, and dairy stock. The entry of cows include some very fine beasts. The Jersey cow “Beauty” is a real beauty, a well-known cow, which has taken several prizes at our shows, heavy milker and very rich, big test, and absolutely guaranteed. She is due in to Lester’s pedigree Jersey bull and ta anyone wanting a good cow she will be worth chasing.
