COLOUR-CINEMATOGRAPHY.
PICTURES IN NATURAL TINTS. New York, Sept. 21. A syndicate of 45 prominent American business men have subscribed 1,000,000 dollars for the exploitation of a process of colouring moving pictures in natural tints invented by Daniel Comstock, who is connected with the Massachussetts Institute of Technology. One picture of five reels already completed was shown privately, anti was highly praised. It is a vast improvement over the prisma colouring. The new invention requires a special camera, which produces negatives. but following immersion in special chemical baths it shows complete colouring as in nature. The invention is expected to revolutionise cine m a tog r a phy.—-(A. and N.Z.)
