ABERDEEN ANGUS CATTLE AS SOCIATION.

A meeting of the council of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association was held in Dannevirke on Ist March. Present: Mr. W. Kinross White (in the chair), F. Armstrong, J. W. Ellingbam, M. Greenwood, J. Knight, F. B. Lowes and A. J. Foxward. The question of shipping cattle to the Argentine was discussed, but in view of the freights payable and the present poor market nothing was done. The Argentine Association wrote on this matter and recommended that no cattle be shipped at present times. It was suggested at last meeting that breeders combine and send a team or teams of cattle to the Australian Royal Show, but the idea was abandoned owing to the fact that once in Australia the cattle could not, under present regulations, come back to New Zealand and would have to be sold. The following names were recommended to the New Zealand Council of Agriculture for inclusion in the list of official judges: Messrs L. Cowan, John A. Macfarlane, J. Ogilvie, P. PaTullo, R. Reynolds, J. Robertson, and H. B. Williams. It was resolved to present a complete set of herd books to the Department of Agriculture Library. It was resolved that the amendment granting the seller the option of givng or refusing transfer be not approved and that condition No. 7 stand as at present. “It shall be the duty of the seller to send to the purchaser, etc., etc.” It was decided that the matter he further discussed at the annual general meeting in October next. The fee for all pedigree certificates v/as increased to ss.
