LONDON MARKETS. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd,. Napier, have received inc following cable irom their head office, London, da boa October 14, 1921: — Dairy Produce.—Butter: Moro demand lor best qualities. Danish quotations nominal, and buyers are holding back in consequence oi high prices asked. Australian 155/- to 184/- per cwt. New Zealand 205/-. Cheese: hair demand. New Zealand, coloured 88/- to 92/-per cwt., white 92/- to 160/ per cwt. Canadian c.i.f. quotation 96, - per cwt.
Also under date 15th instant as follows :—
Wool.—Wool sales continue active As compared with last sales’ closing rates best merino wools 10 toi 15 per cent, higher. Fine crossbred 10 to 1) per cent, higher, Fine crossbred, shpe, par to 5 per cent, higher. Medium and coarse crossbred slipo 5 to 10 per cent, lower. For wools suitable lor the Continent, faulty merino opening rates are hardly maintained. German buyers are operating very little, bhatty combing wools of good quality 20 per cent, higher. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., have received the following cable from their London house, under date 14th instant:-— New Zealand Butter: Better market; unchanged (last quotation £lO 5/-). Cheese: White £5 2/- per cwt., coloured £4 12/- per cwt. Market slow.
