HAWKE’S BAY SHOW.
| OPENING DAY TO MORROW, j The Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and ‘ Pastoral Association Annual Show will : open to-morrow on the Hastings Show 1 Grounds. This function is a most popular one with both the farming commu1 nity and the public generally, and as the ’ weather promises to be fine there is bound to be large crowds present on both days. The programme for tomorrow will consist of judging of horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry and indoor exhibits, and the ladies’ and men’s horse leaping, pony driving and turning competition, while a large number' of side-shows will also prove a great source of attraction. The latter will include gigantic alligators and crocodiles and a petrified woman. On Peoples’ Day a lecture will be given by Air W. Perry on Romney sheep at 9.30 a.m., and the ! judging of hacks, saddle ponies, work-1 ing draughts, tradesmen’s turnouts, and dogs will bo proceeded -with. In addition, in the afternoon the grand parade sheep shearing, and horse jumping competition including the champion leaping match will take place, and, together with the side-shows and the splendid exhibits of stock, etc., will keep the visitors buislv engaged, while at the same time providing them with a thorough good day’s amusement. The Hastings Band will also be present on both days.
