Melbourne, Oct. 17. Melbourne Cup scratchings:—Warbler, Grey Abbey, Coqdor, Royal Commedy. WHANGAREI MEETING. AVhangarei, Oct. 17. Tho Whangarei Racing Club concluded its annual meeting to-day. The totalisator handled £19,128 for the day making a total of £34,279 10s for the meeting, against £87,111 for the corresponding meeting last year, a decrease of £52,831 10s. The largo totalisator receipts last year was due to the fact that the meeting was held on the Avondale course, at Auckland, as the Whangarei course was under repairs.
