WANDERING STOCK.
NUMBER OF PROSECUTIONS. Over half the order paper at to-day’s sitting of the Napier Police Court consisted of charges of allowing wandering stock on public roads. The following penalties were inflicted :— William Ward, one horse at large at Awatoto, fined £2, costs 28s. John Lawrence and Daniel Dooney, three cows at large at Awatoto, adjourned. Kawhe, seven cows at large at Waiohiki, fined £3, costs 28s, Henry F. Butcher, one cow at largo at Greenmeadows, fined £2 costs 28s. George Macdonald, three horses at large at Meeanee, lined £3 costs 28s. John McHardy, one horse at large on Petano-Wairoa road, fined £2 and costs 435. Edward Hayes, four heifers at large at Hokqwhai, fined £2, costs 28s. Alice "Annie Wakely, two horses at large Riverbend road, adjourned. , Charles Fisher, one pig at large at Taradale, fined £2, costs 28s. In each case 2s was added to the costs fojr ranger’s expenses.
