N.S.W. BASIC WAGE.
THE THREE SHILLING REDUCTION
Sydney, Oct. 11. The new' basic wage declaration is not regarded very seriously in unionist circles. The opinion is expressed that it was attempted by a few employers to reduce wages. It was thought most of them will not consider it worth while to apply to the Arbitration Court for n reduction of such a small amount as 3s weekly. However, the action on the part of crnployerr generally, and what steps will be taken in regard to the civil service ana railway employees in the matter ,is awirted with considerable interest.
