ATTEMPTED ASSAULT.
ANOTHER NAPIER CASE. Another assault was added to the recent series in Napier, when a lady was knocked off a bicycle last evening. It appears that the young woman concerned lives in Taradale, and works in Napier. She cycles in t®, and away from work. Last evening on the Taradale road she was accosted by a man. also on a bicycle who first said “Good even ing,” and on receiving no reply made an assault. Fortunately the lady’s scream was answered by the appearance of a young man, and the cdlprit made good his escape on his machine. About a month ago a companion of this victim was assaulted in similar circumstances at the foot of Carlvle street.
