SHOOTING.
NAPIER AND EAST COAST GUN CLUB. A sparrow shooting match took place on Saturday, and although the weather conditions were distinctly unfavourable, there was a good muster of gunsmen. In the 10 bird match, for trophy and sweepstake, H. Bate 16yds., and H. Ellis 19vds.. were successful in killing the possible. dividing first and second money. In the shoot-off for Mr. C. Tait’s trophy. Bate was declared; the winner, H. Ellis missing his 23rd bird. In a seven bird sweepstake, the following divided the money, with all killed:— H. Ellia^ZOyds.: A. Rogers, 19yds.: H. Bate 18yds.: I?> Bellamy. 17yds.: S. Boyd. 12yds. and R. Forrest 16yds.
