H.B. JOCKEY CLUB.
The H.B. Jockey Club met in Hastings yesterday, Mr. J. S. McLeod presiding. There were also present: Messrs. J. H. Colebourne, W. J. Stratton, J. O’Neil), M. Johnson, H. A. Russell and T. H. Lowry. An apology was received from Mr. W. G Stead.
The Programme Committee’s report was received and, with minor alterations, adopted. Nominations for the autumn meeting were arranged for April 16, weights April 23 and acceptances April 26, all at 8 p.m. A supi of a hundred guineas was donated to the Hastings Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial. A claim for accident and transfers of horses in classic events were approved. The financial statement was adopted and accounts amounting to £504 10/were passed. DISTRICT COMMITTEE.
The District Committee met In Hastings yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. S. McLeod presiding. Various enquiries were held and evidence taken, but some of the investigations were not completed. Following licenses were granted:— Trainers: M. Farrell, E. L. Wilson, W. M. McKinnon. Jockeys: G. S. McLean, C. Rollo, J. James, F. J. Flynn. Gentlemen Riders: Messrs. E. T. Batt, E. Fitzgerald, J. McCormick. Apprentices: G. W. Driscoll, R. Kay, C. C. Macarthy, L. »C. Macarthy, P. W. Sinclair.
