SWIMMING.
N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. The near approach of the New Zealand Swimming Championship Meeting at Auckland has caused great interest among swimmers of both islands, and as Auckland is extending itself in order that a record meeting for the Dominion might be held, there seems every prospect of anticipations being fully realised. Canterbury, Wellington, Hawke’s Bay and Wanga nui expect to put in some teams, and, in view of the great improvement made in swimming during the past year or. two. the records established at Christchurch last year are expected to be beaten in almost every case. An Auckland swimming enthusiast who 13 visiting Wanganui states that arrangements are well in hand for the big carnival. It -.is probable that the meeting will last fully a week—four days at least will be occupied with the championships and the main events.
