SERIOUS ACCIDENT
TO PAKEHA-MAORI.
A European youth, known as Maru, an adopted son of the late Sarah, who was residing in Hastings some years ago, in a house at the rear of the Hastings District High School, was found lying on the road, near Clive, this morning, by Mr. George.Hartshorn, of Hastings, who was motoring by. Mr. Hartshorn, and the other occupant of the car, w*ho w*ent to the boy’s assistance, found him badly battered, bleeding at the nose and unconscious. They picked him up and conveyed him to the Napier Hospital, where he is lying at present. Mr. Hartshorn thinks the lad was thrown from hi* horse, as the animal was standing closo by. . , - • Maru is about 16 years old and, it. i* said, will succeed to considerable . interests when he reaches his majority.
