LONDON WOOL MARKET. London, March 20. Mr. Goldfinch, addressing the Wool Council, said it was estimated that 556,000 bales would arrive during the first quarter. In addition 972,000 bales of Australian were afloat, arriving after March 31. This was sufficient for Britain’s, France's, Italy’s and Belgium’s needs. It was hoped to arrange still larger shipments, but the position was not woolly favourable, owing to steamers being delayed and diverted for reasons connected with the movements of troops. Twenty-one cargoes were recently landed or transhipped in the East, and the wool thus delayed was forwarded subsequently in such manner as to disturb tne arrangements lor classification. It was decided despite these delays that the London auctions remain unaltered. SPECIAL CLEARING SALE. Messrs. Hoadley, Son and Stewart, Ltd., in conjunction with de Pelichet.
