NAPIER HARBOUR BOARD.

The Napier Harbour Board met yesterday. Present : Messrs A. E. Jull (chairman), J. J. Langridge, A. L. Beattie, W. K. White, J. T. Blake, W. G. Jarvis, A. McCarthy, T. Styles W. A. Chambers, B. B. Crcagh, P. Parsons, and C. Ellison. The board’s diver (Mr. George Lloyd), who has been 21 years in the board’s service, was received, and! acceptance thereof deferred. Richardson and Co. asked the board to pass a by-law prohibiting masters from bringing in their vessels into the Iron Pot on a flood tide by the “direct method.”- Marine Department to be communicated with before taking action. ! The closing of the year was agreed to. One question unanimously affirmed was the payment of charges on Government goods. Mr. Ellison also reported on the conference, and said the Harbours’ Association would now work in the direction to getting legislation as indicated by the motions. Mr. Jull said the boards particularly protested against the. election of payers of dues. The deputation was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. |
