Melbourne, Aug. 10. The Australian Steeplechase resulted as follow’s :—Cuffs 1, Jack Rice 2, Westendale 3. Fourteen starters. Hobgoblin made most of the running with Cuffs, Westendale and Jack Rice in close attendance. Cuffs led into the straight and easily maintained his advantage., winning by four lengths in 7tnin 19/s<’e, a world's record. BASKET BALL.
