Fairly extensive alterations in progress at the Maternity Home has delayed the opening of the institution, but it is anticipated that the middle of next montn will witness the opening ceremony. Meanwhile many people, realising what a desirable institution the Homo will be, are doing all in their power to assist. The executive of the East Coast Centro of the Bowling Association has decided to devote the unallocated money derived from the New Year tournament to the Maternity Home, and as this amounts to approximately £22, and carries a Government subsidy of 21/- in the £l, the Hospital Board will benefit to the extent of £5O by this windfall,
