Amongst the many letters of thanks that are continually being sent, to the Hastings branch of the Umintoss of Liwipooi Fund Committee acknowledging their firing line parcels i-, the following :- "Westport, N.Z. D- •writing from ‘Somewhere in France.’ desires ma to thank you for a pmreel received by him from the Hastings branch ot the Lady Liverpool Committee, containing sheep tongues, milk, lollies, soap, socks, etc. ]{(> says it is only fair to ai know lodge receipt of these parcels, so that vmi will know they have arrived safely. The contents wore vi-vy acceptable, particularly the socks. I must also thunk your committee on behalf of my children and myself, as but for the timely arrival of tbo parcel, which nlso contained n letter pad. 1 would have had to wait some time longer for t letter as my husband had no paper to write on.
